Nvidia Extends CUDA to RISC-V, But Most Existing Hardware Won't Qualify
Hot Chips 2026: CUDA Targets RISC-V – By Chester Lam

At Hot Chips 2026, Nvidia outlined its plans to bring CUDA to RISC-V CPUs, aiming to feed GPU compute from RISC-V hosts. The company demands server-grade features: RVA23 compliance, ACPI support, PCIe coherency, and peer-to-peer communication. While these requirements align with recent RISC-V standards, most current hardware falls short. Nvidia also discussed NVLink Fusion, which lets third parties integrate NVLink IP with custom CPUs. The article notes that RISC-V's software ecosystem lags behind, and consumer boards are unlikely to meet Nvidia's specs soon, with server systems more probable.
I would be surprised if any RISC-V consumer hardware meets those requirements in the near future.

The interesting part is that this is less "CUDA now runs on RISC-V" and more "Nvidia is defining what a CUDA-capable RISC-V server has to look like."
That could end up being a pretty influential de facto server profile for the architecture.
