I lost 14kg with ChatGPT-guided water fasting
My fat loss experiments with ChatGPT and water fasting
A FOSS developer shares how he lost 14kg and 4.5 inches off his waist in four months using a weekly 40-hour water fast, guided by ChatGPT. He details his prompts, the importance of starting and breaking fasts properly, and how he tracked progress with both scale and measurements. Includes disclaimers and a note that it worked for him, not a universal solution.
I feel like the brain won’t release fat until it feels it will get food next.

This is a bit silly, and has the same tinge as lolcow posts about asking "Chat" when "my son in 3rd grade is going to graduate college". There are a million fasting apps that show based on how long its been since your last meal what is happening in your body, say ketosis or autophagy. Off the top of my head for Android there's Easy Fast, Zero, MyFastingApp (OSS); it's public information that doesn't require inference to derive

Funny how this post appears in my timeline just above:

Folks, until LLMs (but more probably, something that succeeds them) know that they don't know, or know that they hallucinate, don't take medical, legal, technical, financial (...) advice without a fair amount of salt.

I've tried fasting and intermittent fasting.
I got multiple times to 48+ hours, the thing that always kill the efforts to reach 72 hours is headache, no amount of brot and salt saves me. Hunger is not an issue after the first day it generally disappears.
In any case, recently, I swapped to just having a healthier lifestyle, I walk at least one hour 5 days out of 7, do weights twice a weak (mostly body weight exercises at home). Never felt better in my life, I find other approaches silly. If you're not disciplined to do X for your own health and well being fix the discipline, don't change the approach.
Also, it helps that I do this while working. I can do lots of stuff from my phone, including reviewing PRS, mails or pushing small fixes as I walk through the park.
I still plan for an occasional fast once a month of 36 hours, but haven't committed to it yet.
